Steel Coil Edging
Steel edge conditioning is a process by which the edge of a steel coil is rolled to a shape beyond the standard slit edge. This process is performed to remove slitting burr from the edge to make it safe for exposed applications. A steel strip that is deburred will also be flatter and have less wave, making it more reliable and easier to utilize.
Steel edge conditioning puts a complete radius on the strip for applications needing a full round edge. Our coil edging process includes using only high-quality tools and metal to achieve the best results.

Tishken Model STR-30 edging line
We’ve recently added to our capabilities, specifically in the steel edge conditioning realm. We now have two edge conditioning lines to help serve our customers and their ever growing need for deburred or edge conditioned steel. We’ve always been able to run coil to coil but now we can also level and cut to length on our newly installed Tishken Model STR-30 edging line. This machine can run coil to coil or coil to strip, with strips up to 20’ in length.
At Consolidated Metal Service we specialize in edge conditioning gauges ranging from .015” to .125” and widths from .500” to 3.750” on coil to coil applications. In coil to strip our gauge range is also .015” to .125” and our width range is .500” to 2.750”.
Happy to accommodate orders of any size!
Our edging capabilities are precise and can be customized into any specific desired shape.
